A clinic in JLT was paying around 220 AED for a click on the keyword "hydrafacial dubai". The campaign looked clean. Search terms were tight. Quality Score was 8. Conversion tracking was firing. The clinic was closing roughly 1 in every 40 leads.

The owner thought the ads were broken. They were not. The 10 minutes after the click were broken.

The first 10 minutes do most of the work

Once a patient clicks a Google ad in Dubai, the campaign hands them off. From that second onwards, your campaign result is determined by things Google Ads does not control:

Every one of those is downstream of the ad. Every one of those decides whether the 220 AED click turns into a 1,500 AED treatment.

What we found in the JLT clinic

The landing page took 3.2 seconds to load on 4G. Within those 3.2 seconds, almost a third of patients had already left. The page was sitting on a free WordPress theme with 14 plugins.

The WhatsApp button worked, but the auto-reply was set to a generic "Thanks for contacting us. We will be in touch." The first human reply landed an average of 47 minutes later. By then, the patient had already messaged 3 other clinics on the same Google results page.

The booking form had 9 fields. Six of them were optional but did not say so.

We did not touch the Google Ads account in the first week. We rebuilt the landing page, replaced the auto-reply with a real-sounding first message that quoted the treatment price range, and removed 5 form fields. Booking rate went from 1 in 40 to 1 in 11 with the same traffic.

If you optimise your campaign without fixing what happens after the click, you are paying Google to find better patients to lose.

How to think about it

Google Ads is a delivery service. It delivers high-intent patients to your door. Whether they walk in or walk away is decided by the door, not by the delivery.

If you are running healthcare Google Ads in Dubai and you are not happy with the result, before you change a bid, an audience, or a keyword, ask three questions in order:

  1. What does the patient see in the first 2 seconds after the click?
  2. How fast does a human reply if the patient messages you?
  3. What does that first human message say?

If any of those answers are bad, no amount of campaign optimisation will fix it.

The point

For healthcare in Dubai, the campaign is roughly 30% of the result. The 70% lives in the first 10 minutes after the click. Most agencies bill for the 30%. We try to fix all of it.
